Educational facilities provide tangible and intangible environmental elements that affect the physical and psychological needs of the students and educators. Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) is an intangible environmental element. Poor IAQ can trigger asthma and allergies, cause flu-like symptoms or eyes, nose, throat irritation, headache and even have long term health consequence such as respiratory and neurological disorders, even cancer.
FSG realizes the physical health of students and educators need to be considered a part of the educational process. The basic needs that sustain life, (air, water, food, safety, sense of security, among others), allow the process of learning to occur. Learning engages the entire physiology. Clean fresh air intake is essential for the process of learning to be effective.

Adequate & Improved Ventilation
- Increases of 5% to 10% in aspects of student performance may be associated with doubling the ventilation rate when rates are at or below minimum ventilation standards (15 cfm per student).
- Higher ventilation rates are likely to result in lower airborne concentrations of infectious viruses and bacteria.
- Environments with increasing CO2 levels produced progressively lower test scores as CO2 levels increased.
